About African Bulletin 24
African Bulletin 24 (AB24) is a news agency that has reported from across Africa for twenty years. Our correspondents have worked from capitals and conflict edges, ports and power stations, courtrooms and campaign trails. What is new is the homepage: a continuous digital edition for readers who need the continent’s politics, business, climate, security, technology, sport and culture in one clear place.
We were always on the ground. We are now publishing that reporting digitally — with the same insistence on verification, named sources where possible, and corrections when we get something wrong.
AB24 is not a television network and not an international wire service. We do not claim membership of AP, Reuters or AFP. We are a continental news agency building a public digital desk on top of two decades of field work.
Tagline
On the ground for two decades. Online for the continent.
What we cover
Politics and diplomacy; business, trade and markets topics; climate and energy; security and humanitarian crises; technology and digital policy; sport; culture; and clearly labelled Opinion. Company coverage — including energy and industrial firms such as SAEV Charge, Solar MD or SONAH Group when they are newsworthy — is editorial. Those companies are news subjects, not publishers, owners or sponsors of this site.
Bureaux
Johannesburg, Cape Town, Lagos, Accra, Dakar, Nairobi, Addis Ababa and Cairo. Stringers and travelling correspondents file beyond those cities when the story requires it.
How we work
- Facts first. Primary documents and on-record voices preferred.
- Dated numbers. Figures carry a date and a source attribution.
- Clear labels. Opinion is labelled Opinion. News is news.
- Corrections. Material errors get a public note — see Corrections.
- No fake wire badges. We do not invent agency affiliations.
- No invented live prices. Markets strips are topic guides, not price terminals.
Our people
Meet the digital desk correspondents on Correspondents. Bylines carry a name and a bureau.
